Excellent from start to finish

Excellent from start to finish. No filler, no padding.

I had been on the fence about this one for a while, and I should have bought it sooner. The early chapters move quickly through material I already knew, but the later sections were genuinely new to me. I found myself making notes in the margins, which is always a good sign. I have already recommended it to two colleagues and will recommend it to more.

Excellent from start to finish

Genuinely excellent — I finished it in a week and immediately started again.

A colleague recommended this and I can see why. It does something that few technical books manage: it respects the reader's time. I found myself making notes in the margins, which is always a good sign. There is a section near the end that ties several earlier ideas together in a way I had not seen before. Worth the money and the reading time, without hesitation.

Excellent from start to finish

I have read a lot of books on this subject and this is the clearest.

This is the third book I have read on javascript this year, and it is comfortably the best of them. The chapters on javascript are the strongest — the examples are stripped down but complete, and I could follow along without constant guessing. The author is unusually honest about where the simplifications break down, which I appreciated. This is the book I wish had existed when I started working with javascript.
